How to root LG Optimus One P500 on stock Gingerbread 2.3.3

LG Optimus one P500

A friend recently upgraded her phone and bought an LG Optimus one P500 with stock gingerbread android 2.3.3 installed. The LG Optimus one P500 phone has 600 MHz ARM 11 processor on it which is not much if you want to have a decent experience playing android games which is she’s inclined to, and one of the reasons why she bought an android phone.

I told her, she needs to root her LG Optimus one P500 so she can overclock her gingerbread android phone using SetCPU application found in the android market.

Before you do anything, just a word of caution — do this at your own risk, this site or its author shall not be held liable if you brick your phone.

Requirements:

Root package
Driver pack

Procedure:

1. Download and Install the required driver pack

2. Download and extract root package

3. Enable usb debugging Mode in your LG Optimus one P500 by ticking the box in settings>applications>developer

4. Open command prompt and go to the ADB folder of the root package and execute the following commands:

adb devices

adb shell

echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf

5. Once done, reboot your phone

6. Go to the root folder where you extracted the root package and run SuperOneClick.exe

7. Select GingerBreak method and hit root button and wait for a few seconds then reboot your LG Optimus one P500

That’s about it and goodluck :)
