Upgrading Slackware Packages to Current using Slackpkg

Here’s how to upgrade and keep your slackware linux packages to current release using slackware’s package manager, slackpkg.
Setting up slackpkg
1. edit /etc/slackpkg/mirrors
2. add http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/slackware-current/ to the current list of mirrors
3. run slackpkg update
Upgrading package e.g # slackpkg upgrade mysql Installing package e.g # slackpkg install mysql Search installed package e.g # slackpkg search mysql Download package without installing e.g # slackpkg download mysql Getting help on other slackpkg usage and commands To install all current packages
# slackpkg upgrade
# slackpkg install
# slackpkg search
# slackpkg download
# man slackpkg
# slackpkg install-new
