How to update Ncomputing L-Series BIOS

Warning: Before anything else, make sure that you have a stable network connection from terminal client going to the server, and you also have a stable power source. Failure to meet the above requirements may result to an unusable device. You’ve been warned, continue at your own risk.

Ncomputing L230

Here’s how to update Ncomputing L-series BIOS.

1. After starting the network terminal, click on [options] - [setup]

2. Click on the [update] tab and enter the password when prompted, the password is “updateme” and click [ok]

3. If the network terminal finds a latest BIOS image, it will prompt to continue or cancel the BIOS update. Click [Yes] to continue or [No] to abort it.


4. If you opt to continue the update, a warning not to turn-off the network terminal will display while the BIOS image is being uploaded to your network terminal.

5. When the update is done, you will be ask to restart the network terminal to boot the uploaded BIOS image.

The above update will solve the unsupported client firmware problem on L110 and L230 series.
