Of Installatron - Fantastico and Cpanel Scripts Library
I have been looking for an alternative to the fantastic Fantastico, a commercial script library that automates the installation of web applications such as wordpress, drupal, joomla etc. to the websites. It claimed to be the leading software among its kind. The license cost $24 dollars for the first year and half of it for the succeeding years for Virtual Private Servers. The price is not bad at all not to mention it includes the support and updates.

Now, here comes the Installatron. Honestly, i haven’t heard of this software yet until i started looking for Fantastico deluxe alternative, while it functions like its counterpart, Installatron is far more better when it comes to the supported platforms. It can be installed on WHM/Cpanel, Plesk on Linux and DirectAdmin control panels and it comes with an SDK (Software Development Kit) which you can use to create your own custom installer. The license cost is $20 dollars for the first year and $15 dollars for the succeeding years, not that cheap compared to Fantastico deluxe but not bad at all for a featured packed software.
Lastly, the cpanel scripts library, this is one of the cpanel’s add-on feature which provides an easy to use method of installing and uninstalling of open source scripts from content management systems to shopping carts and forums, but unlike Fantastico and Installatron, the cpanel scripts library does not support an auto update, upgrade or an existing installation backup but it doesn’t require you to purchase a separate license to install and manage scripts. That is reason why i am using cpanel scripts library although when budget permits, i will going to buy a license of either fantastico deluxe or installatron, hopefully.
