NDIS.SYS Blue Screen Error

Here’s how to resolve the BSOD caused by ndis.sys:
1. Unplug the cable from the network interface card.
2. Install the manufacturer supplied driver for the installed network interface card.
3. If you have third party firewall installed such as Bitdefender firewall, then disable the installed Bitdefender NDIS filter driver located in LAN properties.
4. Restart the computer

I had a very similar problem on an Acer Ferrari One 200 running Windows 7.
When the bundled subscription to McAfee AV/security ran out, I uninstalled it through Control Panel - Programs - Uninstall a program. Restarting Windows led to a BSOD including -
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
……
ndis.sys
From Safe Mode, I did a System Restore to the settings of the previous day. I then tried the uninstall again but with exactly the same result.
Checking in Computer - System Properties - Device Manager, I noted that there were two WiFi devices ‘Atheros AR5B93……’ and ‘Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter’. I disabled the latter.
I then did a System Restore as above, and found that WiFi worked fine with the Microsoft device disabled.
Finally I carried out the uninstallation of McAfee but did NOT restart. I installed Microsoft Security Essentials and then restarted.
No BSOD!
I don’t know which step (disabling the device or not restarting after uninstallation) solved the problem but everything works fine.

Disabling the adapter did the job. Re-installation of the device driver will get it fixed too.
Thanks for sharing.

I have the same problem as Tim also, but what if I’m in safe mode on my Windows 7 and I can’t use the internet also. My network adapters are Microsoft 6to4 Adapter and Microsoft ISATAP Adapter. Is one of them the problem of my ndis.sys problem?
By the way, if I installed my AntiVirus software, Titanium AntiVirus +, will it be fixed?

Speaking of which, I even have Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet and DW1525 (802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card. Are those the problems? I think the 2 I said on the last comment aren’t the problems. I think one of these are.
